progress!

March6

so today in class we spoke about how far we had come with our performance ideas, and my idea of the audience being the body and me as the actor being the brain still stands. I have had a brainwave recently about having projections of the brain on 3 of the walls in the alcove in studio 2. I will outline the brain with my own fairy lights also. In today’s lesson i was told about a prior performance where someone had a projection on them and then they walked out of it, linking that to my own idea i thought i could have a projection of the body on myself for when the audience walk in and then i would walk out of it to show that they are now in control of the body and all that’s left is the brain. I collected some images about what i may want these projections to look like

What do you do on a train?

March4

In our session last week we discussed what we do on a train, various ideas were brought up such as listening to music, reading, writing and looking out the window. I traveled to Nottingham yesterday on the train and thought i would record what i see out of the window, as in my performance i want to incorporate sounds and music. train

music and sound!

February28

In my performance i want to incorporate music and sound merging the two together. I have been thinking about recording peoples reactions to me having a fit not only would this fit with my idea of making my audience feel like there my body, but it would also be personal to me. The sounds will answer questions that even to this day haven’t been answered such as how did you feel as an onlooker?  the words will all be jumbled together not giving too much away. I haven’t yet decided what music i will have but i feel that i want to create an atmosphere on stage.

What is my audience?

February22

For me this was a tough question as most of my idea’s have been centered around the brain and how everyone has different thoughts and feelings. I kept thinking maybe the audience is my family, friends or the unconscious mind and then it came to me the audience is my body and i am addressing them as the brain. I want to create an atmosphere on stage where the audience feels what i feel. I wrote a short monologue which may or may not be part of my final performance.

It tingles, the signals are being sent, first to the feet, they tingle, then the legs, they go weak, the head it spins and then you fall. I’m still working, sort of on overtime, but there is no recognition when the signals change. I’m tired , rest is needed , yet i feel as if i’m running on overtime did not even tier me, the signals change and i sleep.

This is the mind speaking to the audience (the body) and would work for both of my ideas, hopefully creating the desired effect.
